Get ready for an epic showdown as Doriane Pin and Maya Weug, the rising stars of Formula 1, go head-to-head in their quest for the prestigious F1 ACADEMY title!
From the very first race in Shanghai, these two talented juniors have been locked in an intense battle, with neither willing to give an inch. Now, it all comes down to one final race in Las Vegas, where the championship will be decided.
The Battle for Supremacy
Pin, backed by the iconic Mercedes team, started the season strongly, leading Weug by five points after the opening round. However, Weug, representing the legendary Ferrari, fought back, claiming the top spot in the next two rounds. But a technical glitch in Miami saw her slip to third, creating a significant 20-point gap.
Despite this setback, Pin has maintained her lead, but her advantage has been trimmed to just nine points heading into the season finale.
'The Pressure is on Them, Not Us'
Pin, known as the 'Pocket Rocket', has lived up to her nickname throughout her journey in the all-female series. With a successful background in GT and endurance racing, she made an impressive debut with Mercedes, winning in Jeddah last year. This season, she's been a model of consistency, scoring points in every race and claiming three wins along the way.
But Pin remains calm and focused, knowing that the title is within her grasp. "We are in the lead, so the pressure is on those behind us," she says. "We just need to stay cool and do our thing. I'm not worried; it's the others who should be concerned!"
Weug's Resilient Spirit
Across the paddock, Maya Weug, a member of the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy, is determined to bring glory to the Prancing Horse. She earned her spot with Ferrari by winning the Girls On Track - Rising Stars shootout, and has since become a regular podium finisher.
After a strong comeback with MP Motorsport, Weug dominated the season's first Qualifying, but a technical issue in Montreal threatened her title hopes. However, her raw speed and impressive overtaking skills have kept her in the fight, with decisive wins in Zandvoort and Singapore.
"It's been a rollercoaster season," Weug reflects. "The Montreal weekend was a huge setback, but we've fought back hard. We're within striking distance now, and I think that's a surprise to many, even Doriane! We're proud of our comeback and we'll keep pushing to win this title."
More Than Just a Championship
As Pin and Weug prepare for their final race weekend in the F1 ACADEMY, the stakes are incredibly high. Both have displayed the qualities of champions, but only one can etch their name into the history books.
"Winning the title would be a dream come true," Pin says. "It would be my first single-seater championship, and a testament to the hard work we've put in. This opportunity is thanks to Mercedes and Iron Dames; it would mean so much to them and to me."
Weug adds, "There's been a lot of hard work and tough moments behind the scenes. Ferrari, my team, and my family have been incredible. They deserve this, and I'm grateful to have their support."
The first-ever F1 race in Las Vegas adds an extra layer of excitement to this already thrilling weekend. With the title on the line, neither driver is taking their rival lightly as they prepare for one last battle. Who will emerge victorious? Find out at the Las Vegas Grand Prix!
