In a thrilling announcement that has fans buzzing, Jacobi Jupe is set to join the talented Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming chapter of the legendary horror series, The Exorcist. This project is helmed by the acclaimed writer and director Mike Flanagan, known for his masterful storytelling in the genre.
What makes this film particularly intriguing is that it will present an entirely original narrative within The Exorcist universe, distinguishing it from its recent predecessor, The Exorcist: Believer. This fresh story comes from a collaboration between Blumhouse Productions, Atomic Monster, and Morgan Creek Entertainment, with Flanagan not only directing but also writing the screenplay under his production company, Red Room Pictures. Alexandra Magistro will serve as an executive producer alongside David Robinson from Morgan Creek. Meanwhile, the dynamic duo of Jason Blum and Ryan Turek will oversee the project as producer and executive producer, respectively, for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster.
Filming is scheduled to take place in New York next year, generating excitement among fans eager to see how this new narrative unfolds.
Jupe, who recently gained recognition for his standout performance as the lead in Chloé Zhao’s film Hamnet—where he starred alongside notable actors Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal—debuted the film at the prestigious 2025 Telluride Film Festival. His portrayal earned him a nomination for the Critics Choice Award for Best Young Actor, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning career.
Prior to this, Jacobi appeared alongside Billy Crystal in the psychological thriller miniseries Before, available on Apple TV. He also had a role in David Lowery’s adaptation of Peter Pan and Wendy, playing Michael Darling. In addition to these projects, his television credits include the epic series Britannia, created by Jez and Tom Butterworth for Amazon and Epix. Furthermore, he stars in the innovative musical podcast Cupid, crafted by Katy Cavanagh-Jupe, produced by QCode and Double Garage Films.
Represented by Independent Talent Group, Brillstein Entertainment Group, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller, Gellman, Meigs & Fox, Jacobi Jupe is poised to become a prominent figure in the film and television landscape.
