Get ready to feel the 'awws' because a future hockey star might be in the making! Tom Wilson's one-year-old son, Teddy, is already showing some serious hockey skills, and it's absolutely adorable. During the Washington Capitals' Thanksgiving practice and family skate at MedStar Capitals Iceplex, the spotlight wasn't just on the current players; it was on the potential future of the team.
Teddy, without skates, joined his dad on the ice for some drills, and the results were impressive. Videos captured by Teddy's mom, Taylor, and shared by the NHL, showcase the little guy's natural talent.
In one clip, Teddy made a successful pass to Ryan Leonard in the neutral zone, demonstrating impressive awareness. He then went on to score a goal from the top of the crease.
But here's where it gets really fun: Wilson and Leonard set up five pucks for Teddy to shoot. He scored on four consecutive shots! And on the fifth? He hit the post, but, like a seasoned pro, he immediately crashed the net to score the rebound. Talk about hockey instincts!
The NHL's Instagram post playfully notes that Teddy will be draft-eligible in 2042. That's just six years after Sergei Ovechkin, which is pretty exciting.
What do you think? Will Teddy follow in his dad's footsteps and become a hockey star? Do you think it's fun to see young kids getting into sports, or do you think it's too much pressure? Share your thoughts in the comments!
